Global Yacht Inspection Services

Marine-Trust offers professional yacht inspections anywhere in the world. Whether you’ve found
your dream boat in Athens, Miami, or Martinique, we are here to help.

At first glance, the boat may appear perfect, with a competitive price and an appealing presentation.
The temptation to book a flight and see the vessel in person can be hard to resist. However, as a
buyer, it’s easy to become enamored with the shiny stainless steel fittings and plush cushions. Sellers
often share glowing stories about their boat’s performance, and the friendly rapport that develops
can cloud your judgment.

This emotional connection often makes it difficult to critically assess visible flaws or engage in
objective negotiations about the price. Without an impartial and expert evaluation, buyers risk
overlooking critical issues.

In many cases, a newly purchased yacht must undertake a long journey to its new homeport. It is
essential that the vessel undergoes a meticulous inspection to identify any potential defects or
shortcomings before setting sail.
While local surveyors are an option, their impartiality and the integrity of their reports cannot always
be guaranteed.

At Marine-Trust, we go wherever your dream yacht is located, ensuring a thorough and unbiased
inspection. With our expertise, you’ll have complete clarity on the boat’s true condition, enabling
you to make informed decisions with confidence—no matter where in the world your dream
awaits.

Independent Survey & Support

Why Hiring an Independent Yacht Surveyor Is Crucial?

Purchasing or maintaining a boat is a significant investment, and ensuring its safety, reliability, and
value is paramount. Here’s why working with an independent yacht surveyor is essential:

1. Unbiased Expertise
An independent yacht surveyor works exclusively for you, the client—not for brokers, dealers, or
shipyards. This independence guarantees a completely unbiased assessment of the vessel’s
condition, ensuring there’s no conflict of interest.

2. Comprehensive Inspection
Yacht surveyors are trained to identify issues that might be overlooked by untrained eyes. From
structural integrity and hidden damage to mechanical and electrical systems, an independent
surveyor examines every detail with precision.

3. Informed Decision-Making
A professional surveyor provides you with a thorough and objective report, outlining the vessel’s
condition, potential risks, and estimated future costs. This empowers you to make informed
decisions, whether you’re buying, selling, or maintaining a boat.

4. Ensure a Fair Price
A yacht surveyor’s detailed inspection ensures that you’re paying the correct price for the boat. By
identifying hidden defects or necessary repairs, the surveyor helps you avoid overpaying or
negotiating from a disadvantage. This protects your financial interests and ensures a fair deal.

5. Avoid Costly Surprises
Hidden issues such as osmosis, hull weaknesses, or outdated systems can lead to significant expenses
down the road. An independent inspection ensures these problems are identified before they turn
into costly repairs or safety hazards.

6. Peace of Mind
Knowing that your vessel has been evaluated by an unbiased professional provides confidence and
peace of mind, whether you’re setting sail or negotiating a purchase.

7. Compliance with Standards
Independent surveyors follow recognized industry standards (such as EMCI or Lloyd’s guidelines),
ensuring the inspection meets the highest levels of accuracy and professionalism.

By choosing an independent yacht surveyor, you’re investing in transparency, safety, and long-term
value. It’s not just about protecting your investment—it’s about ensuring you pay a fair price and
can enjoy your time on the water without any worries.

Why Sellers Should Invest in a Yacht Survey?

With thousands of boats on the market, buyers often narrow their search to vessels within their
desired type and price range. A key concern for any serious buyer is whether the boat is free of
hidden defects or unseen damage. While buyers can commission their own survey, doing so for every
potential boat can become costly and time-consuming.

A yacht that already comes with an official, detailed survey report stands out and inspires
confidence. It reassures buyers about the boat’s condition, making it more attractive and likely to sell
faster.

For sellers, commissioning a survey not only helps justify the asking price but also demonstrates
transparency, reducing buyer hesitation.
This is an investment that pays off, both in terms of time saved and in achieving the best possible
sale price.

Trusted Expertise for Insurance Claims and Damage Assessment

Marine-Trust is recognized by numerous insurance companies to perform professional damage
assessments on your vessel.

We provide a detailed damage estimate and compare it with the repair quote from the appointed
repairer. Once repairs are completed, we return to your boat to inspect whether the work has been
carried out professionally and in accordance with the agreed terms. Poorly executed repairs often
only become evident after your boat is back in use—at which point it’s usually too late to take action.
In addition, we offer counter-expertise services if you have doubts about the accuracy or
professionalism of the insurance-appointed expert’s assessment.

With Marine-Trust, you can be confident that your interests are protected, and your boat is
restored to the highest standard.
